Consider this a mini-roundup of some visual arts news:

  • In December, Art Conspiracy will raise a ton o money for Resolana, an organization that provides rehabilitative arts programming for female inmates. But even fundraisers cost money to put on. So on Aug. 7, the producers of Art Conspiracy will hold SEED at Sons of Hermann Hall. SEED will auction off lanterns created by more than 20 local artists from old coffee cans. The proceeds will help fund Art Conspiracy. Neat, huh? You can find more info on Art Conspiracy’s Web site.
  • Moving on from a group looking to raise some funds to one that just received some, the Amon Carter Museum announces that its cash flow just got a boost thanks to a couple of grants. First, the museum received $25,000 from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation. That money will go to support the museum’s education program. The museum also received $10,000 from the Erwin E. Smith Foundation for the broadcast of Cowboy Close-Up, an interactive student videoconference. That’s going to help out 40 schools.
  • Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival has put out the call for its 2010 edition. The 25th annual show will take place April 15-18; if you want to participate, get your application in by Oct. 23. Click here to apply.
