OVER THE ATLANTIC: In November, the Dallas Museum of Art announced a few details about an upcoming exhibition of 40 pieces of French sculpture called “The Mourners.” The 16-inch-tall pieces date to 1457 and normally reside at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, France. Now more information about what we can expect to see is out, courtesy of the Associated Press.
QUOTABLE: “I never would have dreamed when I was 9 years old that I’d be able to come back to my hometown and be a part of one of the biggest TV shows in history and to be a part of their science museum. It’s pretty wild.”
– Fort Worth native Wally Langham, who plays trace technician David Hodges on CSI and is in town to promote CSI: The Experience at the new Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. He spoke with dfw.com about how he managed to turn a bit character into a major role on the show.
THE WORST OF THE WORST: Critics have been pulling double duty this month, cranking out both best of the year and best of the decade lists. But what about the worst? Thanks to the Village Voice, that question, too, can be settled. The paper has ranked the 50 worst songs of the ‘oos, and you’ll be happy to know that Ashlee Simpson’s “La La” was the only artist with local ties who made the cut. Topping the list: Counting Crows’ cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi.” If you’re twiddling your thumbs during this slow work week, this is a reliable time kill.
