FROM SCREEN TO STAGE: Dallas Summer Musicals opens Xanadu tonight at the Music Hall. If you saw the original film starring Olivia Newton-John, you might be wondering how that was adapted into a Tony-nominated musical. Lawson Taitte tells the story of how a young movie producer got the rights and got the story into the hands of Douglas Carter Beane, who is known around here for penning Dallas Theater Center’s Give it Up! from earlier this year.
