Afternoon Delight is a daily diversion for when you’re just back from lunch, but not quite ready to get back to work. Check back tomorrow at 1 p.m. for another one.
Last week, I checked in on the illuminated books on display in “The Lost Manuscripts from the Sistine Chapel: An Epic Journey From Rome to Toledo” at the Meadows Museum for a KERA radio story. After the story aired, I got an e-mail from James Pepper, a Dallas resident who knows a thing or two about illustrated manuscripts – for the past 23 years, he’s been steadily working on his own illuminated manuscript of the bible. He took up the project after his eyesight was restored after having tunnel vision. In the above video, the American Bible Society takes a look at James’ art. You can learn more about James’ work on his website.
