Congratulations to Claudia A. De La Garza of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! Claudia last won our contest in November with this black and white photo taken at the Kessler. She follows last week’s winner, Brian Hamm.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.
Now, here’s more from Claudia:
Title of photo: All Good Oragami
Equipment: iPhone 4G, Hipstamatic app, Lens Helga Viking, Film Pistil, flash off
Tell us more about your photo: I took this picture at All Good Cafe, which is located in Deep Ellum. I love grabbing breakfast at All Good Cafe on the weekend because they have the best pancakes and the mimosa’s aren’t too shabby, either. The atmosphere is great, and the decor is one of a kind. They have tons of CDs and posters everywhere … and sometimes oragami hanging from the ceiling!
One of my favorite memories that I have from All Good Cafe is from late last year. I went to a concert at Kessler Theater to see the Orbans, The O’s and Calhoun with a bunch of friends. We left the concert talking about how talented people are in DFW and how we never even knew who the O’s were – “Where did they come from?” The next morning I get a text from a friend saying, “You’ll never guess who just served me eggs at All Good Cafe?! One of the guys from the O’s.” Such a small world!
