AROUND DENTON: The Visual Arts Society of Texas recently launched its 125 Mile Visual Arts Exhibition at Texas Woman’s University. The juried exhibition invites artists who live within 125 miles of the city to participate. Lucina Breeding of the Denton Record Chronicle has been covering the show, and in her review she says the three-dimensional work has the most to offer. In a separate column, she looks into Mark Rothko’s influence on Denton artist Yuki Ogura, whose painting Rothko + Craft = is in the show. Ogura is a recipient of this year’s Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund Award.
