RICHARDSON SYMPHONY’S CASH PROBLEMS: A money shortage has forced the Richardson Symphony Orchestra to postpone its concert featuring first-chair soloists scheduled for Saturday. It has been moved to June 18. “Rather than create a cash-flow problem for ourselves, we decided to move it to a time of year when we would have more cash,” RSO President and Executive Director George Landis tells dallasnews.com.

The new site has people from around the world recording a short script in their native accent so that actors can study them to prepare for roles. “It’s very easy for a director to eliminate actors who don’t have the right look or the right accent,” the site’s founder, Odile Rault, tells the Wall Street Journal. “If your accent is spot-on, it will get you to the next stage of the selection process.” We’ll keep an ear out for any uploaded “Dallas” accents.
