PEEKABOO: Normally, department store window installations are designed to grab the interest of anyone walking by. But the Downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus is subverting that approach by actually making it difficult to see in the window. Instead, passers by see a blacked out window that has a series of slits to look through. Each slit allows a glimpse of sculptor Jeremy Mora’s work. He talks about the thinking behind this installation in the newest video episode of Art This Week.
DANCE ONLINE: Jacob’s Pillow Dance is best known for being the country’s longest-running international dance festival, taking place each year in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. And now the festival is working to preserve dance history with a really cool new video archive. If you’re a dance enthusiast, this is a must visit as you can search the festival’s collection of videos by artist, era or genre. Anyone who’s anyone from the 1930s to present is on there.
